And the boss-employee lakorns keeps on coming. This time, a remake of the popular Chinese drama, Boss & Me (2014)! Aom Sushar (Mr. Lipstick (2021)) and Push Puttichai (Happy Birthday (2018)) star in this boss falling for his employee and likewise storyline. Nothing special, I gave up on the Chinese one as nothing much ever seemed to happen, but maybe they’ve upped the angst here (at least the teaser seemed dramatic enough.) Food plays a big role in this lakorn as their relationship started through lunch boxes, so lots of food scenes too. It starts airing June 2, 2021 2 days a week on GMM 25 so it should be English subbed, if not on youtube, then it is being subbed by Viu.
Synopsis: The Story of Namkhing, a new graduate who has come to work at Fah Prachanakun Company, with Payu sitting on the podium as CEO. Namking received a hotline from the hospital to donate blood to Payu’s beloved sister. And this is where their relationship begins. Finally, how will the love story between a young CEO and a young employee end? (Source: Valentina at MyDramaList)
You are My Heartbeat (2020) is romantic comedy that’s been in the works since the beginning of 2020. Not many details about this one, but the main couple, played by Mai Davika (My Ambulance) and Push Puttichai (Happy Birthday (2018)) look good together and my attention was caught by these photos of them filming together. Filming is said to be almost completed, so let’s hope we see this lakorn soon in 2021!
The director is Sarasawadee Wongsompetch, who has also directed a lot of popular lakorns including Full House, Raeng Tawan, Tra Barb See Chompoo so I really hope this lakorn has a strong writer as well. Apparently, this is related to 2017 cdrama The Fox’s Summer (2017), so I’m wondering if this is a remake, or sequel or whatever of the cdrama?
Synopsis: Here’s a synopsis of The Fox’s Summer (2017) Gu Cheng Ze, the adopted son of the Gu family, is the CEO of Gu Mall Corporation. Mrs. Gu wishes for her biological grandson, Gu Jin Yu, to take over the company, and Gu Cheng Ze is tasked with guiding the rightful heir towards becoming a respectful businessman. During this time, he meets fashion designer Li Yan Shu and discovers that she is Gu Jin Yu’s ex-girlfriend. He decides to hire her to motivate Gu Jin Yu, who still harbors feelings for Li Yan Shu. The plan works because Gu Jin Yu decides to join the company and pursue her. When Mrs. Gu finds out about Gu Jin Yu’s feelings for Li Yan Shu, she is livid and tells Gu Cheng Ze to separate both of them. This creates an opportunity for Gu Cheng Ze and Li Yan Shu to get closer to each other. (Source: Wikipedia) ~~ Adapted from the web novel “When the President Falls in Love” by Shen Cang Mei
Some stories are retold over and over again, passed down from generation and generation. Many fairy tales, folk tales, fables, so many repeated and told over and over again. This week, I want to revisit the stories told over and over again. Remakes. Legends. Fairy tales.

This week, I thought I’ll take a look at the paranormal in lakorns and elsewhere. Not ghosts, there are sooo many lakorns about ghosts out there. But about paranormal/supernatural activity and creatures. Fantasy lakorns, in other words.
With a nang’ek who turns into a bird at night, fairy godmothers, and wishes, Leh Nangfah (2014) definitely had supernatural elements in it. It starred Push Puttichai and Vill Wannarot and they make such a cute couple here!
