I feel like I’ve been hearing about this lakorn forever! I mean, they finished filmingSong Sanaeha last year, and there’s been numerous rumors about this lakorn airing soon. And yep, there’s another rumor going around now that it’s coming ‘soon.’ No idea what that means exactly, but hopefully this isn’t another false alarm. This is one of those high profile lakorns that’s getting plenty of buzz, thanks to the star power of the main couple, KimberleyVoltemas and James Ma, not to mention it’s their much anticipated reunion (they both starred together in 2016’s Piang Chai Khon Nee Mai Chai Poo Wised!
Song Sanaeha is an upcoming Channel 3 lakorn that is a remake of a 2005 lakorn about twin sisters and the one guy they both love. Not a big fan of the twin lakorns, but I do like the cast well enough so I might check it out. Muse was going to sub it, they’re gone now, but I’m pretty sure another subbing group will pick this up although no airing date has been announced yet.
Synopsis: Two twin sisters, so similar in appearance, but so different in nature, go through life in different ways. Duen is a capricious model and actress, she’s not considerate of anybody’s interests and feelings. Pit, after the death of their parents, takes care of her sister and constantly helps her. While Duen was in a scandalous relationship with a rock musician, Pit met Warit, a worthy young man who first was confused by the twins, but soon realized the difference between them. By a strange coincidence, he turned out to be the nephew of Duen’s new lover. Duen, tired of the elderly uncle, switched her attention to the nephew. And the more he resisted, the angrier and terrible her tricks became to quarrel the lovers. (Source: MyDramaList)
I’ve been in something of a lakorn slump, drama slump really for the last couple of weeks. Haven’t watched much of anything, except some youtube videos. However, Ubaat Rai Ubaat Ruk (2021)) seems to have some potential, the love story between a boss and his secretary, but there are secrets that can destroy that love story. The lakorn airs April 4, 2021 on Channel 3. Main couple this time is played by Mo Monchanok (In Time With You) andMasu Junyangdikul (Pom Arthun (2020)). This should be English subbed by Thippy, so yeah!
If you can’t see the trailer, here it is here. And here is the mv.

Chor Malila (2020) is adapted from a novel and stars big names such as Tik Jesadaporn, Son Yuke and Yam Matira. The English title is Jasmine Bouquet and it’s a past and present lakorn with a ghost in it. Of course!

There he finds documents, personal belongings and photographs of Jaokhun Saymamuang and his wife, Lady Pinmuang. He decides to transfer the finds to the museum, but suddenly the spirit of Pinmuang appears and stops him. She tells Poomtai the story of her life. More Chinese dramas with contract relationships on the way? Yes please! Hello Mr. Gu (2021) stars newbies Chen Jing Ke (The Legend of Jin Yan (2020)) as a CEO and Yan Zhi Chao as two people who enter into a contract marriage together. This is a Tencent production and it should have English subs. The drama stars airing March 30, 2021 three days a week.
Synopsis:A CEO with a phobia of crowds enter into a contractual marriage with a broke heiress by accident. With opposing personalities, the two butt heads but eventually becomes each other’s confidant. The two imperfect souls heal each other and fall in love. (Source: DramaWiki, Baidu)
There are really no upcoming lakorns that I’m super excited about, but there are a couple airing that feature ‘revenge’ as the main theme, so I’ve decided to make a post about them! You’re welcome, lol.
If you can’t play the video, here is the link to the teaser here. Of all the lakorns I list in this post, this is the one I’m most excited about. It stars Om Akkaphan, who may not be the greatest actor, but he often has great chemistry with his co-stars, who in this case would be Sammy Cowell. This Channel 7 lakorn airs March 29.
Synopsis: Top’s aunt has him execute revenge against Rinlada’s family due to what happened to his mom in the past. He plans to ruin Natee Farm, her family’s business. He also gains her trust and makes her fall in love with him. Later he finds out he’s just another chess piece in his aunt’s plans, and a birth secret is revealed. (Source: MyDramaList)
Barb Ayuttitham (2021) airs March 22, 2021 on Channel 3 and it stars Boy Pakorn and Gina Yeena, hmm not bad. But it also stars Bomb Tanin, maybe as the villain? That… will certainly challenge Bomb’s acting skills. The trailer is all action, which you can watch here if it’s not showing below, but this MV does showcase the sweet moments between the couple.
Synopsis: Chidtawan go to the jail because was framed for what he had nothing to do with. After get free, he decide to take revenge any peoples who is the cause of this (Source: Thaidramatic_update) ~~ Remake of the U.S. series “Revenge”.
Sweet Revenge (2021) is billed as a romance, but that synopsis suggests that it could easily veer into thriller/horror territory. I’m hoping for a thoughtful, heart touching look at love and loss of love from this Fuji Tv production. The Japanese dorama airs March 22, 2021 on Monday, should be the usual 10 episodes. You can watch the trailer here if it doesn’t show up below.
Synopsis: Mariko who seems to have no luck with romance but is actually the president of a company named Sweet Revenge which helps their female clients take revenge on men who have dumped them in cruel and harsh ways. (Source: MyDramaList)
Sapai Jao Sua (2021) is a remake of a 2010 lakorn of the same name. It features my favorite trope, marriage of convenience, so of course I’m interested! This is going to be on Channel 3 and stars Ohm Kanin, Prim Prima (Mia Archeep) and Prim Prima (Sai Tarn Hua Jai). This will be released on April 7 2021, airing five days a week on Channel 3, and at least this lakorn is on Neko’s English subbing list so it should be English subbed.
Synopsis: Tien, a Chinese-Thai business tycoon and his wife, Liu had four sons – Traipob, Traitep, Traipoom , and Traiwit. Tien had planned his sons’ lives from what they should study to whom they should be married to without caring about their willingness. Traitep got married with Ruengrin and Traipoom got married with Wallapa, while Traipob who was very religious, chose to stay single.
All of Tein’s three sons helped Tien in his textile business but Traiwit, the youngest son, didn’t want to be like his older brothers. He decided to become a policeman, and left his home to move to the North-Eastern part of Thailand. There, he met Fahsai, the country girl who was a developer of her hometown. Traiwit didn’t reveal his identity at first, so Fahsai thought Traiwit was trying to trick people in her hometown and didn’t like him.
Traiwit was transferred back to Bangkok, so he hired Fahsai to marry him and to help him fight against his father. He brought her back home to try to make his dad accept what he wanted to be. Tien couldn’t accept Fahsai and tried every way to get her out of the house with the help of Ruengrin and Orn-nisha, the girl that Tien wanted to match up with Traiwit. Fahsai had to strive to win Tien’s heart, while she and Traiwit started to have real feelings for each other. (Source: MyDramaList)
Sapai Jao Sua (2020) has a little twist, a disapproving father instead of a villainous mom. Honestly, how many dramas are there with this trope? I oughta make a list about it. The Chinese Tycoon’s Daughter-in-Law is the English title, so I wonder if the Chinese heritage will play a part in the new remake. Here is the link to the teaser if you can’t see it above, and here is another teaser too. Also, this mv shows a lot details from the show.
I’ve had my eye on Road to Rebirth (2021) for awhile now, only it wasn’t called that, it was called Romance With the Star (2020) and seemed like yet another modern cdrama about a celebrity and common person falling in love. It stars Jerry Jia (Pushing Hands (2019)) as the celebrity, and Ivy Chen (Love is in the Air (2018)) becomes his personal maid. The teaser has a fair amount of drama and angst in it, so it looks to be comic lite. Hopefully, this will be English subbed as the trailer is from Yoyo’s channel, so you can catch this airing on March 17, 2021, 7 days a week 😲.
Synopsis: A story between celebrity and a neighborhood girl who becomes his manager. Because of her cousin, Sun Xia Ai is swayed into accepting the job to become a personal maid for hotshot celebrity Su Xing. After spending day after day together, Sun Xiao Ai discovers a side of Su Xing that nobody knows – he helps children with their schooling, reaches out to sick fans and would rather take a hit in his own reputation in order to protect his younger sister. Sun Xiao Ai finds herself falling for Su Xing and chooses to stay by his side even as his star has fallen out of the limelight. Together, Su Xing and his new manager Xiao Ai decide to make a comeback in the industry. (Source; ChineseDrama.info)
Celebrities falling in love with an ordinary person is a pretty common genre, look at You’re Beautiful, Soot Sanaeha, Full House, Touch Your Heart, Payakorn Sorn Ruk and so on. However, this cdrama also has the hero recovering from some sort of injury that lands him in a wheelchair, so that is a little different. The teaser is all over the place really, and I don’t understand what’s going on, but because of my love for all the dramas above, I’ll probably will try this out.
Hello all, I felt the need to check in again with what’s going on in the subbing world since I’ve been having a whirlwind March and haven’t had the time in a while to watch any shows. Well, that’s not true. I’ve been watching a lot of kdrama thrillers, like Kairos, (eh…) and 365: Repeat the Year (loving it). With subbing group Muse’s site going down permanently, I realized how much I depend on them to watch lakorns. They had a great site. We’ll miss YOU! But more on that later. Hopefully, I can get back into the watching game, there’s so much I need to catch up on!
But anyway, we don’t say this often enough, but much love to all our fansubbers out there!!! I know firsthand the hours of work that go into timing, subbing, encoding and editing videos. It’s hours for a little 20-30 minute bit of video oftentimes. I really don’t know how they do it and do it so well and so speedily. Many thanks to all of you out there, and that includes the whole timing, editing and encoding time as well as you subbers!!! 😘
By the way, I don’t post about cable/digital dramas being released on GMM youtube channel, but they do English sub their lakorns on a regular basis, so I urge people to subscribe to their channel to keep up. With the fansubbers, it’s more unclear which lakorns will be subbed and when, so I think it’s more important to focus on them.
I do want to address the controversy of Mia Jum Pen (2021), but I’ve only watched the first 2 episodes (which I enjoyed) and didn’t feel I could address it properly since I didn’t have the time to watch it. I do want to continue watching it, but will I write about it? I don’t know, I feel like I’m wayyy late to the table. Anyway, Lakorn Galaxy talked about it in this post and great rant 😅 here by EL.
Well, if you’re still in the mood for a trainwreck, this drama‘s plot seems like it’ll be all over the place, possibly in a good way, possibly, no must likely not, lol. I watched the first two episodes and it’s not really the trainwreck I thought it would be. It’s short too, always a bonus.
Maybe not the first Thailand drama about love during the COVID 19 pandemic, but one of the latest, Virus Wai Love: Nakrob Chut Kao (2021) is currently subbed by Fansub TH047 @FB.
I didn’t realize how much I depended on Muse to watch lakorns, as their site didn’t cause tons of ads/pop-ups to appear on my screen. Yeah, I use adblocker, but to watch on some sites you have to watch on video players that have all sorts of adware involved. And the performance of some sites worked better on my computer than others. I had planned to watch Duang Jai Nai Montra (2021) on Muse’s site, but now have to look for other options. It’s being subbed by CatAttack now by the way.
Muse is not the only channel either that appears to be affected, as 1fanthailakorn also received copyright news against a lakorn they were subbing. There are more official streaming sites that offer English subbed lakorns now then when Muse started years ago, such as youtube channels like GMM, Netflix and streaming providers Dimsum.my and Viu you can get in some Asian countries (not in the US unfortunately), but that still leaves a lot of lakorns unsubbed. Hopefully, we’ll get more choices soon, but in the meantime, we still have many other fansubbers, so thank you all!
Thippy continues to English sub the lakorns Wong Wien Hua Jai (2021) and Talay Luang (2021)). She also started subbing lakorns World of Himmapan (2021), a fantasy lakorn and Mae Krua Kon Mai (2021), which is already stroking my writing fires. Why does a so called ugly person have to have darker skin? I can almost see a blog post write itself.
Mae Krua Kon Mai (2021) – Lomdao is supposed to marry Balam, but she refuses, since she’s never met him and doesn’t know what he’s like. So she disguises herself as Fai Dam, the Balam’s family’s new cook. Balam soon becomes suspicious of her and It’s just a matter of time before he discovers she’s his fiancée. Slowly, the two fall in love.
World of Himmapan (2021) – Pim must travel to Himmapan Forest, the holy land, to find “Ulgmanee” to help her sick adoptive father But when it comes to Himmapan Forest, which is a parallel world, it is not easy. Pim had to ask for help from Krit, a young hunter who had come back from the Himmapan Forest once. So both of them have to dabble together. (Source: Channel 3 Thailand)
Ku Kaen San Rak (2021) – Songkran is a real estate mogul a total womanizer with a son named Pe. But he didn’t start out like this, though. Pe’s mother left him when he was young to be with another man. Kran was heartbroken and began treating women like toys and gained the nickname ‘Invincible Casanova’ along with his best friend Sia Ou who runs a modelling agency. Ingdao and her family own a large orange farm. She’s the type that takes no crap from anyone. Thanks to her huge mole and unkempt appearance she is often viewed as ugly. Nevertheless, she has a boyfriend named Nu, a dashing and mild-mannered teacher from the same town.
Songkran and his father have been eyeing a piece of land that Ingdao’s father, Saeng, currently owns. It was given to him by his late wife so he cherishes it very much. One day, Ingjun, Ingdao’s little sister who had been studying in Bangkok, finally gets sick of all the odd jobs she has and decides to apply for a job at Songkran’s company along with her friend, Marin. Both Ingjun and Marin are accepted as accountants. Songkran made connections between Saeng and Ingjun and came up with a plan on how to get his hands on that piece of land.
Songkran begins to woo Ingjun and she falls for him hard and fast. His family is even in on the plan, acting all loving when she visits their home. Soon, she willingly signs over the rights to that piece of land her father had given to her. She was able to come to this decision because of her rocky relationships with her own father. After Songkran obtains proper documents, he leaves her. Ingjun was devastated. Furious, Ingdao wants to take revenge for her younger sister who tried to commit suicide along with getting their land back. But knowing that Songkran will never fall for her in her current state, she is helped by her best friend Moddaeng and transformed into a gorgeous woman named Daopradub.
Pee Roon Pram Ruk (2016) –The main character (our hero) Logan mafia’s boss in Hong Kong, the main character Charming ( our heroine)- and secretly works as a doctor in Hong Kong. Another day, another marriage drama. Chinese drama Truth or Dare (2020) is a historical costume drama based on a novel about a couple of girls who step into the wrong carriage. It stars Teresa Li (My Classmate from Far Far Away), and Huang Jun Jie (Dr. Cutie) and should have 34 episodes. They released a trailer some months ago, but no news of a firm airing date of now, but I’ve waited to talk about this drama and didn’t want to wait longer.
Synopsis: A story that follows two couples who mistakenly find themselves in a marriage they never expected and gradually grow in love and trust over time. The cheerful and clever Xiao Wanzi grew up as a street performer with her dad selling their special skill of breaking a big stone on the chest. An unexpected encounter utterly changes Xiao Wangzi’s life. Xiao Wanzi who neither knew how to read nor write suddenly finds herself becoming a princess. Opposed to marrying the princess, Mei Sanshao pushes Xiao Wanzi away in hopes that she’d willingly retreat. Meanwhile, the king has arranged a marriage for Lu Yingyao, the daughter of the 9th prince. However, bandit Xiao Baoye mistakenly takes her as his wife.
Truth or Dare (2020) is the remake of 2001 Chinese drama Wrong Carriage, Right Groom (2001), which I’ve heard praised by a number of people, but unfortunately it’s not English subbed (there are a couple of subbed episodes on Youtube, but that’s it). This is a Mango TV drama and since they have a lot of their dramas English subbed on Youtube, hopefully this will be one of them, so check it out!
I might be mistaken, but I think this is the first Thai remake of a kdrama airing this year. Let’s Fight Ghost (2021) is a remake of 2016’s Bring It On, Ghost (2016). Our ghost busting team consists of Saint Suppapong and Orn Patchanan. This is going to be on Channel True4u production, which is well known for their many kdrama remakes, some good (Full House) and some bad (Princess Hours). This will start airing today March 3, 2021, two days a week, and it also will be a Netflix release (not sure what regions though), so hopefully it will be English subbed.
Synopsis: A cohabitation comedy about a ghost of a high school girl who has been dead for 5 years and an exorcist college boy with the ability to see and hear ghosts. What he’s discovered over the years is that he can touch them and fight them off, so when he’s in need of a part-time job and can’t find one that pays well enough, he starts putting ads online as an exorcist for hire. His ad: “Will face off with your ghosts. Chances of winning: virgin ghosts 80%, bachelor ghosts 40%, child ghosts 97%, the rest 50%.” One night he goes out on the job and faces off with a schoolgirl ghost, and during the fight, they accidentally kiss and sparks fly.” (Source: IMDb) (Source: MyDramaList)
